THE amazing orange cake from Georges Blanc's grandmother

This delicious recipe gets its name from Georges Blanc's grandmother, a renowned French 3-star chef located in Bresse. The recipe is simple to make and simply perfect in taste.

Recipe for 6:

- 2 oranges

- 150g butter

- 150g sugar

- 115g flour

- 115g powdered sugar

- 2 eggs

- 6g of baking powder

- Preheat the oven to 410°F and butter and flour the cake pan (we used a loaf pan). - Zest the oranges, then finely chop. Squeeze one orange.

- Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat, then off the heat, add the granulated sugar and mix until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Add the juice of the squeezed orange, then the eggs one by one. Add the sifted flour, baking powder, and almost all of the zest (keep one tablespoon for garnish). Mix well to obtain a smooth mixture.

- Pour the batter into the pan and bake at 410°F for 10 minutes, then lower the oven temperature to 350°F and continue baking for another 20 minutes. At the end of the baking time, let it cool for 5 to 10 minutes, unmold, and transfer to a rack. Prepare the glaze by mixing the orange juice, powdered sugar, and Kirsch. Once the cake has cooled, pour the glaze over the top and sides of the cake. Sprinkle with orange zest and let it dry for about thirty minutes before serving.

Bon appétit!
