Step into the 19th-century splendor with our exquisite French 'Terre de Fer' set of 6 dinner plates (ironstone) by Amandinoise in blue green. The plates are in rather good condition; however, aside from their patina and craquelures, some plates exhibit beige stains due to usage and time. No chips or cracks are present.

Ironstone tableware emerged in France around 1770, made from natural clay, sand, and minerals. Unlike porcelain, ironstone is not translucent and can have a rough or smooth surface. The term peaked around 1900 with manufacturers like Faïenceries du Moulin des Loups, Saint-Amand, Lunéville, and others, producing sets stamped with 'Terre de fer' for authenticity.

Use: Ironstone dinnerware is generally dishwasher safe, but a delicate cycle is recommended. Avoid abrasive cleaners to maintain their surface. While durable, handle with care to prevent breakage.
